Agility Saietta unveiled, the electric sports bike with unconventional styling

A new player has entered the electric motorcycle game, joining the likes of Brammo’s Empulse but doing it with rather more… unconventional styling. It’s the Agility Global Saietta, an all-electric sports bike that will come in two flavors: the 50 mile range Saietta S and the 100 mile Saietta R.

The latter of the two will be quicker than the first, getting to 60 in under four seconds, whereas S riders will have to wait another tick of the stopwatch. Naturally that extra range and speed will cost you: £9,975 for the S and £13,975 for the R, figures that equate to roughly $16,200 and $22,650.

Hefty sums, both, but nobody said being on the cutting edge of the humpbacked sport bike trend was going to be cheap. Read the rest of this entry »

How to Turn Your iPod touch into an iPhone: 4G Edition

The latest iPhone and iPod touch are nearly identical devices, ignoring the pesky reality that the latter isn’t a phone. We can fix that. Here’s how to turn your iPod touch into a viable (and cheaper) iPhone alternative out of the box.

Back in the day, turning your iPod touch into an iPhone required a jailbreak, but now, thanks to some wonderful apps and other tools, using your iPod touch as an iPhone alternative is a piece of cake.

The iPhone and iPod touch have always been similar devices, but now that Apple’s added a front-facing and regular camera to the iPod touch, they’re practically identical. You can even make video calls on both devices. The only real missing feature is the phone. Thanks to VoIP (Voice over IP) apps like Skype and Line2 (see more details below), you don’t even need to jailbreak to solve that problem.

Although it’s easier than ever to use your iPod touch as a full-fledged iPhone, there’s still a little work involved. You’ll need the right apps and potentially some extra hardware. Let’s take a look at your options and how you can work around the shortcomings of an iPod touch-turned-iPhone. Read the rest of this entry »

How would you change Nokia’s N900?

Maemo 5 didn’t stand on its own for long before being mashed together with Intel’s Moblin, but Nokia’s N900 still stands as one of the best handhelds for web browsing.

It’s hardly the world-beater that Nokia (may have) hoped it to be, but that’s not because the internals aren’t impressive. We’re guessing that only a handful of you made the effort to fork over wads of cash in order to pick an unlocked version up, but if you did, you no doubt have some opinions post-purchase.

Is the display living up to your expectations? Are you and Maemo getting along alright? How’s that keyboard? We’re eager to know how you’d tweak the N900 if you had the keys to the design kingdom, and with MeeGo already being announced, we’re forbidding you from suggesting the obvious.
