Panasonic D-Snap SV-SD870N Has 99 Hour Battery Life

Battery life of MP3 players has been greatly increased the last years, with companies such as Cowon and Sony leading the way with up to 60 hours of music playback. The record is now broken, as Panasonic intros an MP3 player with a whopping 100 hours of music playback.

The internal battery will take about 3 hours to charge, which is substantially less than one would think for such a long battery life.

The player don’t have any internal memory, and relies solely on SD(HC) cards, with 2GB bundled with the player. SDHC supports means you can use 16GB cards now and 32GB in a few months, and with 16GB cards selling for as low as $60 it’s not necessarily a bad choice. Read the rest of this entry »

The subscription-based iTunes rumor has been around for what feels like eons, and apparently, it’s rearing its always intriguing head once more.

According to a report over at Financial Times, the suits in Cupertino are currently “in discussions” with major music outfits about a new model that could essentially “give customers free access to the entire iTunes music library in exchange for paying a premium for its iPod and iPhone devices.”

Reportedly, a distribution model similar to Nokia’s “Comes with Music” could be used on both iPhones and iPods, while traditional subscriptions would be reserved for the iPhone — a device which has a monthly billing relationship already attached to it. Read the rest of this entry »

Make no mistake, there are quite a few firms out there with solutions for concealing that wall-hung flat-panel, but we see no harm in one more alternative joining the mix.

The Zen-inspired Kabe from TV2ART aims to blend one’s HDTV into its surroundings by floating just a few inches away from the wall and possessing a slidable painting that can cover up the set when needed or slide out of the way when gameday comes.

As expected, the unit is offered in a myriad styles, and interested consumers can even have one crafted from wood, aluminum, copper or just about any other material known to man. Read the rest of this entry »

Quite frankly, we’re a bit shocked it took this long for the paint gun-wielding gurus over at Colorware to start fancying up Nintendo’s famed DS Lite, but just in case The Big N has yet to unveil a hue that floats your boat, look no further.

As with most everything else it sells, you can send in your current unit in order to receive it back in a whole new outfit, but those who’ve yet to jump on board the bandwagon can acquire their very first DS Lite already modified.

Best of all, Colorware lets you paint up the main frame, button pad, front port, bottom, L / R buttons and even the stylus separately (for a cost, of course), so those looking to relive the 70s can toss together some seriously groovy combinations. Go on, hit up the read link and exercise that artistic muscle. Read the rest of this entry »

The biggest, fastest and the longest-range plane to date has been unveiled. The makers of the private jet that became a must-have accessory for super-rich folks and czars of corporate world, the Gulfstream V, have announced their new model, the Gulfstream 650. A mock-up of the jet was unveiled yesterday at Gulfstream’s Savannah, Ga., factory, but the designers clearly have their eye on northern New Jersey’s Teterboro Airport, the hub for business aviation in the New York area. It will have a range of 7,000 nautical miles (about 12,950 km) at a speed of 0.85 Mach, which means it would be able to fly non-stop from Los Angeles to London. Featuring a cabin headroom of about 6 feet 5 inches (1.96 meters) and larger, oval windows, the plane is set for first test flight late next year and first delivery in 2012. Prized at $60 million, Gulfstream 650 is visibly designed to dominate the top end of the business jet market.

Glass Igloo Hotel

Hotel Kakslauttanen in Saariselkä, Finland, 250 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle, offers several glass heated igloos as part of its Igloo Village. This is made of a special thermo glass, the igloos maintain room temperature, and the properties of the glass also keep it from getting frosted over, even when the outdoor temperature drops to -30 C. Although, you can opt to stay in one of the traditional snow igloos, there is probably nothing that compares to watching the northern sky from the comfort of your own bed. One of the privileges of the hoteliers is that Igloo Village can eat a meal in the Snow Restaurant, and take time for a drink, out of a cup made from ice of course, at the Snow Bar. In the morning, it is time for a traditional sauna and afterwards, to cool down, a dip in a nearby ice hole. I think it is time to pack those wool socks, hat, and book a ticket to Lapland. Now that is a good service! At least it gets off the idea of the ice hotel, it is yet so hyped and hoteliers whole look out for a change at regular luxuries and adventurous intervals this shall be an alternative.
