LG KU990 Viewty Review

The new LG’s KU990 is undeniably a slinky number in the world of mobiles phones. It’s a slim and good looking and doesn’t feel plasticky. In simple terms this is a camera that you can ring people on as well as watch TV, browse the web and listen to music. Its large 66 mm touch pad screen occupies most of the front making it look like a tiny plasma whilst on the reverse, a lens encircled by jog wheel used to control the zoom and navigate through menus and adjust volume, gives the familiar appearance of a camera!

Navigation is made straight forward and friendly by the large and sensible icon layout on the touch screen. Helpfully, you can also set the touchpad to vibrate when you touch it – confirming each selection. Although the icons and buttons on the touchpad are a good size, not having small fingers or long fingernails be a disadvantage, but if this is the case, the small extendable stylus on standby. The only slightly annoying thing is the storage of the stylus which dangles untidily from the top of the phone. I found messaging slightly easier then on my usual phone – being able to swap swiftly from predictive text to alphabetical to numerical. There is also a clever little handwriting entry feature using the small extendable stylus, but disappointingly this led to errors in recognition and was slower than texting via the keypad. You can also text using a QWERTY keyboard if you wish.

Fly high without polluting the sky. Awarded by the Design Observer 2008, the Manned Cloud is a flying hotel, which allows its passengers to discover inaccessible areas, devoid of any infrastructure (airports, roads, hotels, etc.). This is an impressive return to the airship, cargo or business center of 500 square meters flying at 280 km/h. The concept is being pushed forth by Massaud Studio, in partnership with ONERA, the centre of French aerospace research. The talented French designer Jean Marie Massaud dreamed of the future options for travel and came up with the Manned Cloud, a hotel in the air. The flying hotel is said to be a mix of huge zeppelin, with services cruise, hotel accommodations and aesthetics. According to the creator, this hotel-cruise-dirigible will allow the travelers to enjoy a non-stop round the world in 3 days, while staying in any of its 60 rooms. This looks like a white whale in the sky. The hotel in the clouds appears quite as green as amazing. The designer’s dream of a unique, helium-filled hotel from where you can appreciate the most marvelous views of Earth, could be realized as soon as next year.

Seems like every time I’m listening to music, my ears get cold. Normally I remedy this problem by turning up the music, but I’m told this could be harmful. What I really need is something that can just warm my ears without the side effect of deafness. Fortunately, JVC has got me covered with the 180s Earwarmer Headphones. Well, they got my ears covered at least. Basically, it is a pair of earphones that work with any MP3 player, CD player, or other portable audio device. They have some earwarmer technology that uses an outer shell and insulation to block wind and shed rain and snow and yet still retain heat.

It makes them essentially a high tech piece of earmuffs. So can I use these without listening to music? After all, it’s getting really cold out and could use a little extra ear insulation. Still, at least I wouldn’t have to worry about my headphones if I was out in the rain or snow, which is something I do worry about from time to time. Some of you might be interested in this type of protection from the elements, and you can go on the GadgetWorld website for about 29.95. Oh, that’s in pounds by the way.

Relaxview BV

want to make that trip to the dentist a little less painful? Maybe if you were wearing one of these relaxView BV, you would be a little more cut off from the real world of pain. I’m not certain if this viewer is anything different than other viewers such as the myvu or the iWear, but this one is hooked up to a DVD player and I’m told it can replicate a 60 inch screen.

I believe the reason this is supposed to work is that it completely blocks off the real world. Therefore, the big distraction is supposed to take away from the little distractions such as the needles and gloved fingers, you know. You know, out of sight, out of mind. If you don’t know the dentist is about to shove a needle the size of a pitchfork into your gums, then the painkiller will actually live up to its name. Just as long as you don’t see a mirror image of yourself wearing the thing. I mean, it looks like you’re Cyclops from X-men, but with a smaller visor. I don’t know how much it costs, or even if it is available to the general public. Do you have to be a dentist to purchase one of these?

Camcorder – Stainless Steel from Micro

I’ve got something for you. Something that will be a little more durable than these cheap plastic webcam or handheld jobs that are really pervasive in the market today.

This camcorder is from Micro, and is cast of Stainless Steel. This Stainless Steel Camcorder shoots DVD quality footage. It can record two hours of footage and 100 5.4 Megapixel still images on a 2GB SD card. Not only that, there is a very nice looking handle to it, especially how it folds up like that. I’m wondering if it is a little less fragile. I mean, could you drop it and still be able to film later on? I think I would feel a little more comfortable carrying this thing around and filming if I knew it was more durable. I mean, do you want to take a regular webcam on the street if one little jarring is going to short it out? Just think of what you could film with it? I mean, the possibilities are just endless. Man, I have got to get my fingerprints on this thing. I wonder if it will stay on them with some stainless steel action going on. You can get this little guy on ThinkGeek for about $150.

I’ve never been one for casual video games that involve some sort of trivia. There’s just something about using a $300 piece of hardware for something so simple as a board game or card game. One of the latest offerings for the Xbox 360 takes the casual gaming to a whole new level with custom controllers for trivia games. These new strange-looking controllers will be bundled with the new Scene It! game. As you would guess, the large colored buttons are for buzzing in, while the other four correspond with an answer displayed on the screen. I’m sure that the controllers will make the game more exciting for families that enjoy interactive games together. The Scene It! Bundle will be available starting on November 8th for $59.99.

The Nemo is intended to be solid enough so that you can take it with you everywhere you go, mostly since you come across small text at places like the grocery store and mall as well as your house.
Nemo has a few special features that make it a little more useful, one of them being the freeze frame feature which, like a camera, lets a person freeze the magnifier on one spot so that they can focus solely on something especially difficult to read. Besides that, you have your basic magnification (4.5 to 9x) that appears on the beautiful 4 inch LCD antiglare screen. When viewing the magnifier, you can pick one of six modes: color, black and white, positive, negative, or in a variety of colored backgrounds. It’s designed to help you see no matter the subject matter.
